TABLE OF CONTENTS
Restructuring
On September 9, 2008, Sterlite Industries (India) Limited (the “Company”) issued a press release to
announce that its parent company, Vedanta Resources Plc (“Vedanta”), intends to simplify the
Vedanta group’s corporate structure by restructuring it into three commodity focused verticals:
copper and zinc-lead, aluminum and energy, and iron ore (the “Restructuring”). The Restructuring
has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Company and is expected to be effective from April 1, 2009. A copy of the
Company’s press release dated September 9, 2008 is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is
incorporated herein by reference.
