(b) On February 8, 2011, Dr. Robert Mehrabian notified The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (the “Corporation”) of his intention to retire from the Board of Directors of the Corporation at the upcoming Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on April 12, 2011 and that he would not be standing for re-election to the Board.
