Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On October 10, 2008, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release announcing a listing of major topics that will be addressed at its 2008 Investor and Analyst Meeting that will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 15 and 16, 2008.  A copy of this press release is attached as exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report.

 
On October 10, 2008, the Company issued a press release announcing that its Chief Executive Officer, Aubrey K. McClendon, involuntarily sold substantially all of his shares of Chesapeake common stock over the past three days in order to meet margin loan calls.  A copy of this press release is attached as exhibit 99.2 to this Current Report.
