Item 5.02.   Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.

On April 18, 2019, M. Jason Pigott, Executive Vice President - Operations and Technical Services of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (the “Company”), informed the Company of his decision to resign effective May 17, 2019 in order to pursue another opportunity.
