Client Demand, Early Tech Investments Set Stage for Expanding Capabilities

NEW YORK, NY, September 29, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP continued on its trajectory of client-driven growth in key practice areas with the recent addition of partners Aaron J. Aisen in Buffalo and Peter K. Rydel in Hartford, Connecticut.

Aisen brings extensive experience beneficial to clients of the firm's Insurance Solutions, Commercial and Corporate, and Cyber, Technology and Social Media Practice Groups, while Rydel adds significant depth to its Employment and Labor and Construction Practice Groups.

Steady and Strategic Growth

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady credits its steady and strategic growth to increasing demand from its expanding client base. The growth is readily facilitated by the firm's advanced technology platform that has been at the core of its business model since the firm's 2017 inception.

"Our diverse client base faces many new challenges in this environment," said Managing Partner John J. Jablonski. "Efficiency and quality from workflow and technological enhancements is ever more a value-added proposition. Our clients seek cost containment and cost certainty, and we were built to deliver."

"Firms designed to meet clients where they are will thrive. The talented lawyers joining us realize this," Jablonski added. "All this is driving growth that we anticipate to continue through the next year, as we expand our legal and administrative teams to handle the uptick in legal work we're experiencing."

Aaron J. Aisen

Aisen focuses his practice on regulatory compliance, governance issues and complex litigation. He provides national and international clients with practical solutions for navigating challenges in the areas of financial services, insurance regulation, consumer protection and cybersecurity/data privacy.

With his diverse background, he brings to every matter a combination of firsthand experience in government, industry, private practice and the courts. Aisen has been a confidential law clerk for two federal judges — including the Hon. Carl L. Bucki, Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of New York — and has experience in three legislative offices, an international bank, and a large law firm. His extensive publications through Thomson Reuters, DRI, Law360, Mealey's, the New York State Bar Association, and other organizations have helped shape the professional discourse on financial, cybersecurity/data privacy, and other regulatory issues.

In his banking experience, he was a compliance investigations officer who dealt extensively with the Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations in addition to other banking laws and regulations. In private practice, he represented national and international clients in regulatory matters and complex commercial litigation while working daily on a team with the last New York Superintendent of Insurance.

"We are thrilled to bring Aaron's unique wealth of regulatory and governance experience to our clients," said Daniel W. Gerber, Chair of the firm's Insurance Solutions Practice Group. "He gives our team rich depth in and perspective on regulatory issues. Aaron is not only a seasoned regulatory lawyer and litigator, but he's also been a compliance officer and twice served federal judges as their trusted clerk. His experience in the business world and in the courts provides client a unique perspective in meeting governance standards while achieving their commercial goals."

Peter K. Rydel

Rydel maintains a diverse, multi-disciplined practice in the areas of construction, commercial and employment litigation and counseling. His employment work centers around representing large, mid-size and individual clients in matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, non-compete litigation, disputes concerning restrictive covenants and employment investigations.

His construction practice involves representing owners and indemnitors in warranty and bond claim disputes arising out of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements. This encompasses disputes concerning large commercial solar arrays. He also represents parties in mechanics' lien discharge proceedings and related construction matters.

"Peter is the kind of lawyer any employer wants on its side," said Jablonski, who also chairs the firm's Employment and Labor Practice Group. "He provides a staunch defense and sound counsel coupled with consummate professionalism, thoughtfulness, and appreciation for the practical impacts of each matter on the client's business. We're all pleased we can bring his talents and his passion to our clients."

"With our construction practice continuing to grow, we're happy Peter chose to be part of our team," said William G. Kelly, Chair of the firm's Construction Practice Group. "He brings exceptional experience with litigation involving massive renewable energy projects, along with a broad array of complex commercial disputes in the construction realm, where a deep understanding of the business issues is critical for success. Our clients will see his value immediately."
