October 28, 2020 – Frisco, TX – Improving is proud to announce that the annual CodeLaunch startup competition and expo will take place on November 5th, 2020 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. CodeLaunch 8 was previously scheduled for September 10th but was postponed due to COVID. With the new CodeLaunch health and safety measures, the event was approved by the City of Frisco to be live and in-person.
CodeLaunch is a national seed accelerator competition where startups from around the world compete for invaluable seed services. This one-day event also features a tech trade show, a startup conference, and a lively networking party. This year, Finalists will be competing for at least $120k in complimentary services to further their startup goals.
This Sunday and Monday, November 1st and 2nd, curated Finalists from various categories are paired with professional software development teams for intense product hackathons at the Improving and Code Authority offices. At CodeLaunch 8, the Finalists are set loose on the competition stage with their hackathon partners to demo their product progress. The CodeLaunch 8 hackathons teams include Code Authority, Improving, UNT at Frisco, iTexico, and Beezwax.

In the Fall of 2019, Code Authority (and CodeLaunch) was acquired by Dallas-based national technology consulting company, Improving. A key strategic element of this acquisition was the future of CodeLaunch. Starting in Q1 of 2021, CodeLaunch will be on the road for a national tour, visiting multiple Improving markets per year.
