Canadians Should Go Green with the Flooring Choices

A Canadian hardwood flooring company has urged people looking for wood floors to transform their homes to hunt out environmentally friendly options.

Three Trees Flooring said that homeowners could make a huge difference to their carbon footprint and the environment by choosing eco hardwood flooring.

The company, based in Toronto, sources all of its wood from ethical forestry companies that are local to them, so they can reduce their carbon footprint on fuel consumption.

A spokesman from Three Trees Flooring said: “Environmentally friendly practices are a key part of our business. Not only do we source our wood from ethical forestry operations, but we also make sure they are local so we don’t have to drive large distances to collect it. We use any waste and by-products from fitting our floors to fuel the kiln that dries the lumber we use to make our floors.”

“We are always looking for ways in which we can do better. And we are constantly speaking to our customers and our dealers to look at how they can do their bit too.”

“Our wood floors are designed to last a lifetime, so we will speak to our customers about how they can care for their floors to ensure they do. That means that once they have their hardwood floor, there is no reason why they would need to have another fitted.”

“Wood floors need to be kept hydrated to ensure longevity. We use a special wash technique for the floors that ensure the natural oils are retained in the flooring and the floors look like new at the end of the process. There is also a special oil treatment that can be used periodically. This is particularly helpful for areas of flooring that are used regularly and can show some wear and tear. It just helps to keep them looking as good as new and means they will last a long time,” he added.

Another reason why Three Trees Flooring sets itself aside from other companies is that it offers a 3-ply system that can be installed over heated floors and keeps its stability, strength and form in extreme temperatures and abruptly changing temperatures – like using under floor heating.

Three Trees Flooring offers its customers five different types of hardwood flooring – the Veneto collection, the Nordic Collection, the Versailles Collection, the Elemento Collection and the Reactive Collection.  Within each different collection, there are lots of different variations of colour and design that customers can opt for.

The company will always discuss the best option for its customers and provide a quote especially for that job, or there are retailers who provide Three Trees Flooring options across Canada and North America. Customers can find their local suppliers on the Three Trees Flooring website.
