The newly launched exhibition is called ‘Mountains and Roses’ and is on display from March 6-April 10. It takes the viewer on a journey through rugged landscapes and a rose garden, both with vibrant colors and thought-provoking scenes.

When viewing the canvases for the first time, the eye of the viewer is drawn to the expansive scenes set within mountain ranges alongside the contrasting size of the rose garden paintings.

A trapezoidal-shaped canvas has been used for the rose paintings, which makes it feel as if the roses are jumping out of the painting. Each rose has its own unique shape and position, which animates them further, making them seem as if they are individual roses confined to one plant.

Ceramic sombreros in various colors with roses painted on them can also be viewed. As part of the large mountain landscape pieces, there are sombreros included within the design, as if to provide shade to those who walk the mountainous landscape.

They reflect Ken’s upbringing as he was raised in Bakersfield, CA. The local artist currently lives and works in Pasadena, CA. This is his first solo exhibition at the gallery, and the gallery’s inaugural exhibition as it previously hosted a curated exhibition highlighting the works of contemporary African artists at Christie’s in Beverly Hills.

The gallery is proud to support emerging artists as they explore their craft and hone their skills. It provides studio space and production materials to help artists achieve their full potential.

A spokesperson said: “We provide the environment and means for artists to more fully develop their ambitions. We submit thoughtful critique and encouragement with the goal of empowering artists to navigate the complexities of-the-art world.”
