A New CT Real Estate Firm Launches Post-Pandemic With Mission to Give Back to Hometown Heroes

SHELTON, Conn. - July 23, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Veteran real estate executive Helen Tvedt, licensed in both New York State and Connecticut, announced today that she has launched a new boutique residential brokerage firm—CT Real Estate with Integrity, LLC—that will give back a portion of the home sales commission as a rebate to the frontline and essential workers with each transaction it closes on their behalf.

Shelton-based CT Real Estate with Integrity, LLC is an affiliate of the national nonprofit Homes for Heroes, Inc., the largest nationwide network of affiliate real estate, mortgage, and local business specialists committed to providing easy ways for heroes to save on a home. Shortly after 9/11, Homes for Heroes, Inc. was established to give back to firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active, reserves & veterans), healthcare professionals and teachers. Since its inception, Homes for Heroes has helped more than 46,000 heroes save over $80 million on their real estate transactions, sold over $11 billion in real estate to heroes, actively partnered with more than 4,100 like-minded real estate professionals who have joined in the mission, and donated more than $947,000 to heroes in need through the Homes for Heroes Foundation.

Tvedt is now looking to build a team of real estate agents in the region that has the commitment to provide the best services to these workers who gave so much during the pandemic and are willing to give back to these heroes in our midst as they embark on selling or purchasing a new home.

While Realtors were classified as essential workers during the COVID pandemic, the true essential workers were the healthcare/EMT, law enforcement, firefighters, military and teachers, Tvedt related. They all put their lives on the line to help others. Throughout the pandemic, Tvedt, a licensed real estate broker since 1996, kept thinking there must be something she could do to say "Thank You," and now those thoughts have come to fruition and have evolved into reality.

Tvedt has a long history of serving her community. In addition to her real estate career, she has an extensive background in economic development. She served as Special Assistant to the Mayor for Economic Development in Westchester's largest city under Mayor Phil Amicone's administration; prior to that she also worked at the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation as Associate Director, where she launched the borough's first Women and Minority Business Enterprise and managed the Commercial/Industrial Real Estate Program. She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including the U.S. SBA's Women in Business Advocate of the Year award in 2004. "The Homes for Heroes Program is an incredible way of giving back," she said. "I couldn't think of a better time to give back to those who gave so much during one of the most difficult times throughout the country and the world. I am very proud to be an affiliate of Homes for Heroes."

Homes for Heroes began as a result of the events that took place on 9/11 in an effort to give back to the country's heroes. This year marks 20 years since the events of 9/11 and the Homes for Heroes Foundation is donating $50,000 to Tunnel to Towers, a nonprofit that started at the same time and because of the same reason as Homes for Heroes. Tvedt is a proud parent of a son that is currently serving in the military and is excited to be a part of a program with a mission of giving back to those who serve.
