Mr. Rock's journey began in 1984 with an apprenticeship at Admiral Heating & Vent, where he learned the fundamentals of HVAC systems. After completing his apprenticeship, he worked for Johnson Controls until 1989 before starting his own company, United Testing and Balancing. He led the company for more than 20 years, during which he became well-known for his work in certified nuclear facilities and conducted essential research in air and water testing and balancing for HVAC systems. In 2013, Mr. Rock expanded his expertise by taking on the role of an energy conservation engineer at United Building and Energy Services.
In addition to his business ventures, Mr. Rock has contributed to the field through his academic work. Since 2016, he has served as an adjunct professor at Triton College, the College of DuPage, and Local 399 building stationary engineers of Chicago, where he teaches energy conservation and HVAC testing and balancing.
