-- Global One-Pak Limited (GOP) has announced the development and production of the world’s first single material lotion pumps, a fully recyclable solution designed to meet growing industry demands for sustainable and hygienic dispensing technology.
The newly launched pump is manufactured entirely from a single plastic polymer, eliminating the metal springs and mixed materials commonly found in traditional lotion pump mechanisms. This allows the product to be recycled in full without requiring disassembly, maintaining both its commercial value and environmental integrity at the end of its lifecycle.
Made in the UK, the pump is also available with up to 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, supporting wider carbon reduction efforts. By sourcing and manufacturing locally, GOP further reduces the environmental impact typically associated with shipping and international logistics.
Designed for high-volume production and large-scale distribution, the single material lotion pump features a smooth dispensing chamber with variable output, as well as a security locking mechanism to ensure leak-proof performance in both retail and e-commerce packaging.
In addition to its functionality and environmental credentials, the pump has been developed with brand aesthetics in mind. It is available in custom colours, including chrome and UV finishes, and can be further enhanced with decoration options such as embossing and printing. Clients can also choose from a selection of actuator head styles, with Teardrop and Saddle being the most popular. Bespoke actuator shapes can be manufactured to meet brand-specific design requirements.
This innovation comes in response to increasing pressure on manufacturers and retailers to eliminate unnecessary plastic waste and improve the recyclability of their packaging. The single material pump has already received recognition for its contribution to sustainable packaging, having been awarded the Sustainability Trial Award.
