For Int’l Students Seeking US Diplomas and Colleges w/o Int’l Agents

Now international students can have access to independent college guidance counseling driven by their interests.
PRLog - Jun 26, 2013 - BRONX, N.Y. -- International Educational Resources Center Education Foundation (IERCEF) launched a new college matching service called College QUESTionnaireSM a tool for future, international students committed to obtaining a four-year degree at a US college, but who want to drive the selection process more. According to the American International Recruitment Council most international students enrolled in American higher education institutions are there because they have been recruited by international agents working on commission. The institutions they present to students are limited in number and diversity. There are about 5,000 degree granting institutions across America and only a relative handful host students from countries like India which account for 13,000 undergraduates, 60,000 graduates and nearly 27,000 participating in Optional Practical Training programs nation-wide. Each international student contributes approximately $25,000 per year to the U.S. economy, in 2011/12 there were 764,495. Beyond the regional economic impact, their presence on American campuses is what makes the bricks-and-mortar higher education experience richer.

College QUESTionnaireSM is an online, technical assistance tool. It generates data that enables IERCEF's advisory team to present best-fit schools that these students would rarely consider. The matching is based on submitted student-provided data. If more information is sought, the registrant and advisory team can communicate via email or social media channels like Twitter or Facebook. Registrants will receive a password where they can update their information anytime. The webpage is secure, easy to use and safe. IERCEF policy forbids selling or sharing personal data with third-parties. College QUESTionnaireSM is like being connected online to U.S. college counselors. The introductory registration price, at the time of press, $10.

“Recruiting is here to stay and will increase. All we want to do is, one: assist in making the process more student data-driven and, two: broaden exposure for internationally lower-profile, U.S. highered institutions.” says Steven W. Jones President and CEO of IERCEF, adding “we’re starting with the largest democracy in the world: India”. “This is about more information and access which is a good thing; this gives everyone (students and institutions) more of both; it’s a win-win” added Reginald G. Beamon: IERCEF’s new Chair. Given technology and student mobility flows today, it was only a matter of time before international students could leverage new resources like College QUESTionnaireSM enabling them to play a more demand-driven role in selecting U.S. colleges that meet their needs best.
