Music Managers Lewis Webster and Edward Bruce On Shogun's TV Appearance

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / March 8, 2021 / It's safe to say that there must be a good reason when students drop out of university. We can say this for both Lewis Webster (23) and Edward Bruce (23), both studied initially at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow, respectively. Having sat down with them both, they insight into a world of music management where it seems like their decision is paying off.

Within the last month, the two budding music managers have had to deal with an influx of emails and calls after their headline talent, Scottish rapper "Shogun" was a participant on "The Rap Game UK". A BBC Three series, which The Royal Television Society recently nominated for best Formatted Popular Factual show, has been viewed by over six million people for its first season. Both managers co-founded TUIGSE Music Group (TMG) to manage their talent effectively and other recorded music activities.

The Scottish rapper, originally from Paisley, was asked to be on the second season of the show, following the first season's success, which won the Edinburgh TV Award in 2020. The show is hosted by renowned UK rap names DJ Target and Krept & Konan. When asked about how it all came about, Edward said, "actually, he [Shogun] was approached directly by Naked Productions to be on the show". He went on to explain that they were interested in mixing some more established names into the mix, "it was our understanding that they were looking to bring even more eyes on the show as it headed into the second season at the time, requiring a unique talent such as Shogun to add into the mix".

Both Edward and Lewis, the co-founders of TMG, talked about how the show benefited both Shogun and the music group but said there is room for improvement as the show develops into further seasons. When asked to expand, Lewis said, "while the show greatly increased Shogun's following on Instagram, it feels like there is still a link in the chain missing when trying to convert viewers to support the artists". Looking into this gap, both Edward and Lewis thought they should add more integration of the artist's social media accounts, including their own music or even create live music events around the show, hopefully in a post-COVID world.

Having discussed the show in great detail with both music managers, it definitely appears like the producers behind the show need to receive more feedback from the contestants and their management teams. In the meantime, Edward and Lewis continue to build off the appearance and have multiple releases planned for 2021.
