Experienced Family Investing Leaders to Advise on Investment Initiatives and Expand Network of Family Capital and Private Equity Relationships

Pritzker Alternative Strategies LP (“PAS” or “the firm”), a dedicated family capital investment firm focused on making passive investments in high-quality private equity funds and their related investment opportunities, today announced that Philip J. Durst has joined Michael J. Batal, III as senior advisor to PAS. Mr. Batal and Mr. Durst are seasoned private markets and family capital investors and bring significant experience advising prominent family groups on investing and operations strategies.

Mr. Batal and Mr. Durst will support the PAS leadership team on strategic initiatives and investment strategy. As senior advisors, Mr. Batal and Mr. Durst will help expand the firm’s extensive network of family and private equity relationships and provide valuable insights as the firm executes its differentiated investing and portfolio construction strategy.

Mr. Batal most recently managed the private equity and venture capital portfolio of Kemnay, where he oversaw investment activities and advised the Parker family and the Oak Foundation. Previously, Mr. Batal was managing partner of Rho Private Equity, an investment firm serving single-family offices, and partner at Citigroup Private Equity. Mr. Batal began his career at BT Capital and has professional experience as both a private equity GP and LP, in investment banking and commercial banking.

Mr. Durst most recently was president, chief investment officer and chair of the investment committee at Brush Street Investments, the investment arm of Ford Estates, where he oversaw the group’s investment platform and portfolio management in addition to coordinating across generations and family office leadership. Previously, he was chief investment officer and chair of the investment committee at Tolleson Wealth Management, and he has held investment management roles at Invesco and John McStay Investment Counsel.

Launched in 2024, PAS allocates Anthony Pritzker family capital to often harder to access lower and middle-market private equity funds focused on growth and value investments across the United States and Europe. PAS intends to selectively expand its group of senior advisors as the firm expands its platform and executes its strategy.
