MEDIA ALERT: AttackIQ Announces Second Annual Purple Hats Conference

Free virtual event provides access to globally recognized experts, technical content, and latest threat-informed defense techniques against cyberattacks

WHAT: The award-winning Purple Hats Conference is the industry destination for cybersecurity practitioners around the globe to collaborate, share ideas, and learn how to evolve from a reactive to proactive threat-informed defense. Founded by AttackIQ and leveraging the open AttackIQ Academy platform for cybersecurity education and certification, Purple Hats provides a free, multi-perspective experience for thousands of virtual attendees to learn how to improve, enhance, and evolve their cybersecurity practices.

AttackIQ CEO Brett Galloway will kick off the conference at 8 a.m. PT with welcome remarks, followed by a keynote conversation with Jen Easterly, Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Dr. Richard J. Danzig, Senior Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, a Trustee of the RAND Corporation, and former U.S. Secretary of the Navy on key challenges in cybersecurity and cyberspace operations today, and how the U.S. government can best respond.

The conference will feature four main tracks:

    This track brings together leading thinkers and practitioners in national security and cybersecurity planning to discuss how organizations can build an evidence-based cybersecurity program to achieve better business outcomes.

  • Threat-Informed Defense and MITRE ATT&CK

    In this track, industry cybersecurity leaders and experts from the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and Center for Threat-Informed Defense will discuss the state of research and the state of the practice in how teams elevate their security program performance.

  • Leading in Cybersecurity

    This track distills the unique challenges facing those tasked to lead teams in a complex environment, an environment defined by escalating attacks on U.S. and allied national interests and offers clear examples from the field on how to succeed.

    Speakers include: Martin Peterson, Head of Information Security at ISS A/S; Marlys Rodgers, CISO and Head of Technology Oversight at CSAA Insurance Group; Allan Alford, CISO and CTO of TrustMAPP; Uma Mahesh Reddy, CISO at Prime Healthcare Services; Timothy Rohrbaugh, CISO at JetBlue Airways; Gabe Lawrence, General Manager of Cybersecurity Protection at Toyota; and Maggie Miller, journalist and cybersecurity reporter at POLITICO.
  • Applied Solutions for a Threat-Informed Defense

    This content track features cybersecurity solution providers on the front lines of helping customers confront advanced persistent threats, ransomware, and cybercrime. Attendees will learn how MITRE ATT&CK elevates cybersecurity effectiveness for providers and customers alike.
