FBA resource library expands to provide members with consumable guides on timely topics
Today at Fiber Connect 2024, the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) announced its Fiber 101 Series—a collection of concise resources designed to demystify and clarify technical fiber topics. The series currently includes two documents on aerial fiber deployment and the series will grow to include topics of value and interest to FBA members.
“FBA’s ever-growing catalog of research provides broadband planning tools and informative resources that demonstrate the impact of fiber broadband. This research helps members drive decisions that will bring value to their business and the communities they serve,” said Deborah Kish, Vice President of Research and Workforce Development at the Fiber Broadband Association. “The Fiber 101 Series gives members the opportunity to dip into specific technical topics and learn successful technical strategies. These guides should help our industry tackle challenges more easily and build better broadband.”
The Fiber 101 Series launched with two papers on aerial fiber deployment:
- “Application Considerations for Aerial Fiber Drops” outlines technical considerations that affect long-term network reliability for aerial fiber networks.
- “Aerial Fiber Deployment: Messenger Strand and Lashing Wire” describes the fiber optic cable deployment method, detailing the materials, planning, and installation process.
