Palisades Native Launches Homefront LA: Bringing Homes Back to Los Angeles County, Better and Faster

From Insurance to Permits to Completion, Off-Site Full-Service Approach Aims to Streamline the Rebuilding of Impacted Communities Post-January Wildfire Tragedy within Insurance Budgets

Homefront LA, an off-site, premium home builder serving long-time residents who lost homes in the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, today announces its official launch. After losing his own homes to wildfire devastation, Palisades resident and Homefront LA Co-Founder, Peter Partain, turned his hardship into a mission to help others rebuild. He has united a trusted team of industry professionals with decades of combined experience in home construction, insurance recovery, appraisal and property taxes, to help families achieve a 110% rebuild using the coverage they’re entitled to. Their goal is simple: empower homeowners who are still unsure of their next move to rebuild stronger, smarter, and within their insurance means.

“Having lost my own home in the Palisades wildfires, I face the same dilemma as many neighbors: do I return and if so (or not), how do I decide?” said Peter Partain, co-founder of Homefront LA. “Our hope is that by approaching the financial and logistical elements of this question in a more holistic manner that combines insurance recovery, appraisal and property tax implications, with a turnkey rebuild, Homefront LA can be a resource for fire-impacted homeowners trying to decide whether to rebuild to stay/sell, partner to rebuild to stay/sell, or sell a cleared lot.”

According to PreventionWeb, The Palisades and Eaton Fires destroyed a reported total of 16,240 homes and commercial properties, creating a critical need for additional construction capacity that can quickly bring long-term recovery to Los Angeles County neighborhoods.

“We’re about ten months forward from the fire and many who lost homes remain in a state of denial or decision paralysis about what to do next. Others don’t have the bandwidth to focus on what to do next. Our goal for all these people, especially long-time residents of Altadena or Pacific Palisades, is to provide firmer ground on which to make their best financial decision at a great value, which is a decision that we believe could possibly make them financially whole again. I know our process works well for people we’ve talked to. What we hope is for Homefront LA to be a resource to help long-time neighbors make an informed, best choice for them,” continued Partain.

With respect to rebuilding, Homefront LA offers:

  • A higher end, affordable option for rebuilds, tuned to So Cal living.
  • Products geared toward long-time residents needing smaller rebuilds (~2000 square feet or less) that traditional builders are less likely to focus on.
  • Rebuilds with lumber or steel in its 400,000+ square foot facility, which, like for other mod builders, helps to substantially insulate them from surge pricing, short labor and permitting uncertainties.

As a business (and for people like Partain, as a customer, too), Homefront LA can significantly de-risk the rebuild process. Come 2026 and into 2028 when 1000’s of homes are expected to be rebuilt by 1000’s of homeowners with unlikely coordination across 100’s of GCs, the founders of Homefront LA want clients to rest assured that the core of their home and its finishes are coming to life in a controlled, repeatable process, isolated from having to manage the potential chaos of rebuilding fully on-site.

With fire-zone recovery in mind, Homefront LA’s process does not start with rebuilding but with deciding what to do next, which may or may not include rebuilding. This is why the team includes working with insurance carriers on the owner’s claim and property tax relief, as needed.

Homefront LA was built on the belief that the true foundation of a neighborhood is its people. Its mission is not simply to rebuild houses, but to rebuild homes and safeguard the continuity of the communities they shape. Neighborhoods thrive when long-time residents, the cornerstones of their character, culture, and identity, can return. The team is committed to ensuring that the families who defined their communities can rebuild, return, and once again call those neighborhoods home.

“We’re not trying to be everything for everyone,” added Partain. “Our primary focus is helping long-time residents in Altadena and Pacific Palisades who are struggling to make rebuilding up to 110% of their prior home work within their insurance budgets. We’re here for families that feel stuck and want to move back in and on with their lives. Before an empty lot hits an oversupplied market in what we view as the home front of a warzone, we really want homeowners to know there is a great alternative. Everyone’s circumstance is different, but if they have a runway of twelve or so months, we think for many that they are leaving significant wealth on the table by parting with an empty lot and potentially unused insurance proceeds. We think we offer a compelling alternative for consideration.”
