Aurora Payments, a full-service payment technology provider, today announced the appointment of Avin Arumugam as Chief Product Officer, responsible for leading the company’s product organization and advancing its innovation strategy across ARISE and Aurora’s suite of payment solutions.

Arumugam joined Aurora on April 14 and reports directly to Brian Goudie, Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Payments.

“Avin is a rare leader with a true 360-degree view of the payments space. His track record of building product engines that drive growth, paired with his deep technical knowledge and commercial acumen, make him an ideal fit for Aurora Payments,” said Goudie. “Having worked with Avin earlier in our careers at First Data, I’ve seen firsthand how he brings clarity and results to complex product environments. I am thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

Arumugam brings over 20 years of leadership experience spanning the entire payments and commerce value chain, with pivotal product roles at First Data (acquired by Fiserv), PayPal, JPMorgan Chase, Visa, One Inc., and Postmates (acquired by Uber). He joins Aurora during a period of rapid growth and innovation, where he will play a key role in shaping the company’s product vision and go-to-market strategy.

Most recently, Arumugam served as an Operating Partner at Searchlight Capital Partners, advising SaaS and payments companies on how to transition to product-led growth models and scale efficiently.

“Aurora has built an incredible foundation with a strong culture, a powerful product suite, and a clear focus on customer success,” said Arumugam. “I’m excited to join this talented team and help accelerate the next chapter of product innovation and growth.”

This key appointment underscores Aurora’s continued investment in executive leadership, following the addition of Derek Dean as Chief Revenue Officer in December.
