Marquis Who's Who Honors Lisa Boslow Dorman for Expertise in Divorce and Custody Mediation

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 23, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Lisa Boslow Dorman for her achievements in divorce and custody mediation, public service and advocacy. Ms. Dorman has built a career rooted in compassion and neutrality, rising to become a respected certified divorce mediator and parent coordinator at Dorman Mediation Services LLC.

About Lisa Boslow Dorman

Ms. Dorman is a certified divorce mediator and parent coordinator at Dorman Mediation Services, where she has been serving since 2023. As a divorce mediator, she helps divorcing parents resolve issues such as physical and legal custody of their children, visitation and access, division of property and child and spousal support. She mediates negotiations and conflicts with fairness and respect, ensuring a safe space for clients to share concerns, fears, and information. As a parent coordinator, Ms. Dorman is asked to "weigh in" on and resolve divorced parents' disputes arising from ambiguity or confusion in their written agreements before the disputes escalate to intense conflict that causes toxic stress and negatively impacts their children. She also draws on her extensive legal career to advise clients on how to communicate effectively and maintain a focus on the best interests of their children.

Before starting her own practice, Ms. Dorman worked as a principal court attorney to a New York State Supreme Court Justice presiding over matrimonial cases from 2010 to 2023. She resolved hundreds of divorce cases without further litigation, always keeping fairness and neutrality in the forefront and the best interests of children a top priority. One of the highlights of her service as a principal court attorney was mentoring college and law students who interned with her during the summer months. She supervised their research and writing and thoroughly enjoyed the endless conversations about the cases they were working on and their aspiring careers.

From 1998 to 2009, she served on the Attorney for Children Panel, representing minors in custody disputes, and delinquency cases. Earlier roles included serving as an attorney for the Office of the Welfare Inspector General of New York and as an assistant district attorney in Queens County, where she prosecuted both misdemeanors and felonies. Her legal career began with an internship at the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office while in law school.

Ms. Dorman earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Emory University and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from New England Law in Boston, where she studied on an academic scholarship for her second and third years. She credits her parents' encouragement and her father's confidence as key influences in both her personal and professional life. Their support, combined with her scholarship, gave her the freedom to excel academically and grow in her career.

For more than 40 years, Ms. Dorman has worked with dedication to public service rather than personal reward. She has kept her fees fair, ensuring her work remains accessible to families in need. Today, she urges those entering the field of mediation and parent coordination to pursue it for the right reasons and build strong professional networks. She emphasizes that neutrality, integrity and compassion are the cornerstones of effective mediation.

Service Outside the Courtroom

Ms. Dorman's service extends beyond the courtroom. She has contributed as president of the Parent-Teacher Association in New Rochelle, where she led projects that engaged families in new and innovative ways. She also organized the "Dollars for Scholars" walkathon, which raised money for graduation gifts, and helped fund improvements such as a new playground with a "buy a brick" campaign that she ran singlehandedly. These efforts sought to build community support and strengthen local schools.

On a personal level, Ms. Dorman is proud to be the mother of two adult children. She believes that her experience as a parent has strengthened her ability to guide families through conflict, providing her with insight into both the struggles and the rewards of raising children.
